Brooklyn is home to nearly 2.5 million people,making it the most populous borough in New York City. It has 4,505 acres of parks – 9% of the borough.
The area covered by the 40th Council Dictrict includes Crown Heights, Ditmas Park, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Kensington and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. It is home to Prospect Park, Wingate Park, Kings County Hospital, Wingate High School and Erasmus Hall High School.
The District is multi-ethnic with a slight majority from the English-speaking Caribbean.
