Letter from L. Rickie Tulloch - Candidate (Democrat) for NY City Council, 40th District
Dear Community Residents:
Good day!
I have lived and worked in our community for over 32 years. I have served the community in various capacities including as a member of Community Board 17 for over 17 years.
I have worked closely with most of our elected officials including Assemblywoman, the Hon. Rhoda Jacobs (Deputy Speaker); Assemblyman, Hon. N. Nick Perry; State Senators, the Hon. Kevin Parker and the Hon. Eric Adams to bring about positive changes in our community. We have fought to maintain quality and affordable housing, keep our streets safe and our children engaged in after-school educational and recreational activities. I would like to continue to do more for you and our community by becoming the next City Council Representative.
My background in finance and my record of community involvement will allow me to skillfully negotiate on your behalf for the resources that are needed for the residents of the 40th District. We need more dedicated public servants who are committed and loyal to their community–my record of community services speaks to that commitment. I come to you with a record of integrity, understanding of community needs, and a strong commitment to the improvement of our community for all our residents.
I will continue to lead the fight and advocate for affordable housing, job creation, education, senior and youth programs and healthcare. Additionally, I will continue to fight for contextual zoning (down-zoning) to prevent developers from destroying the essence, fabric and character of our community. Also, I will seek to ensure that senior citizens, low-and moderate-income residents are protected from being displaced from the community by unscrupulous developers.
I hope I can count on you for your support as I believe that I am truly qualified to serve you and to bring in the funding, services and programs that you so rightly deserve. As you review my background, experience and my record of accomplishments, I am sure you will find that I am the most suitable candidate to serve the 40th Councilmanic District.
With best regards,
L. Rickie Tulloch
It was a pleasure to have worked with Sandra and your team of volunteers in making sure you were qualified to get on the ballot. The officers and I will contact all of our friends, family and neighbors within the 40th district in getting out the votes. The 25-35 Tennis Court Tenants Association has a 98% voting record. Mark Green who is running for Public Advocate has asked for our support.
Secondly, Rhoda Jacobs is a dear friend of our Association. She has spoken to us and has written letters on our behalf when faced with problems and situations. Again, congratulations. We are looking forward for the victory and do keep the faith.
